About Ravenhall Correctional Centre
Ravenhall Correctional Centre is part of The GEO Group Australia, based west of Melbourne and is Victoria's largest prison for adult sentenced and unsentenced males. It's contemporary campus-style design provides a safe and humane environment that enables and nurtures GEO's Continuum of Care operating philosophy.
Ravenhall also has a dedicated Forensic Mental Health Unit, a specialised Closed Supervision Unit for prisoners with significant challenging behaviours, and a small Mission Based Unit for prisoners who have never been in custody before. In recognition of the importance of Continuum of Care, Ravenhall extends its presence into the community by providing ex-prisoners with access to post-release support at GEO’s Community Reintegration Centre
About the Opportunity
The HR Coordinator- Recruitment plays a key role in driving recruitment initiatives and supporting talent acquisition processes. As an integral part of the Human Resources team, this role ensures seamless coordination of the end-to-end recruitment process in a fast-paced environment. This includes recruitment of internal positions supporting development opportunities and employment changes. This role also offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to workforce planning, engage with candidates, build strong and trustworthy relationships with stakeholders and contribute to a high-performing team.
This position requires a hands-on approach with an eye for detail and excellent people skills.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end recruitment of internal and external hiring, which including bulk recruitment, promotions and transfers
- Liaise with the GEO Leadership Team and Hiring managers to understand the staffing needs in the department to ensure effective placement
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Proactively assess future workforce needs collaborate with stakeholders to develop workforce plans
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with HR best practices and align with company policies and legislative requirements
- Update and maintain accurate documentation and filing (physical and electronic)
- Support and assist the broader HR team across various HR functions as needed
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective and professional communication to deliver a seamless experience for candidates and hiring managers
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in HR and/or experience across HR functions with a recruitment focus
- Experience handling conflicting priorities and meeting strict deadlines, whilst managing expectations of stakeholders (internal and external)
- Solution-focused with a high level of self-drive and proactive decision-making
- Ability to interpret and adhere to Industrial Relations (IR) instruments, and workplace policies and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships across the business
- Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce
- Commitment to HR best practices with the ability to remain objective in decision making
- Strong attention to detail and ability to show accuracy in documentation
- Previous recruitment experience in a complex and dynamic organisation.
